Painting the Town - the Street Art of Detroit
Client: Personal Project
About the documentary: Painting the Town is a short-form documentary film about Detroit’s surging independent movement of street art and graffiti. Still considered a renegade art form – and often expressed in massive building-sized murals – this medium depicts subjects, both abstract and whimsical, filled with meaning and metaphor.
So how is street art changing the face of Detroit - its perception, its popularity, and even its economy? Can this art form bring people and communities together in ways never imagined a few short years ago? “Painting the Town” begins to answer these questions.
Role: Director, Editor, Cinematographer, and everything in between.
