meeting america.

I joined a 107-day, nearly $2 billion presidential campaign, personally working on 40 events across 16 cities, welcoming over 100,000 attendees, and handling high-stakes logistics, security, and crowd management for the Vice President’s travel. Every event required rapid execution, adaptability, and high-pressure problem-solving in collaboration with the Secret Service, campaign HQ, and local law enforcement.

It was the honor of a lifetime to meet America. I watched everyone from 90-year-old Vietnam veterans to 8-year-olds tear up watching the VP share our vision of joy, hope, and freedom for the country. We crafted events from the Southern Border to barbershops in Philadelphia to Union halls in Detroit.

For many people, this was the only time they’d meet a VP in their life. It was our job to help the VP meet America.

What does Advance do?

  • From coordinating airport arrivals and motorcade logistics to overseeing on-site movements, crowd interactions, and travel staff needs.

  • Whether ensuring only U.S. flags appeared in photo lines, marking precise toe positions on stage, or pouring podium water into glasses (never bottles), we meticulously planned every moment to reflect professionalism and avoid surprises.

  • These efforts are executed closely with three key stakeholders: campaign headquarters, the Office of the Vice President, and, most importantly, the Secret Service.

What did I do on advance?

  • I spent the majority of my time on the campaign as an Advance Crowd Lead.

  • The team I oversaw was responsible for the crowd experience from arrival to departure ranging in event sizes from intimate high-profile meet and greets to expansive 15,000-person rallies.

  • The job demanded extensive collaboration, each with unique requests—whether negotiating crowd logistics with the Secret Service, coordinating with venue management, labor teams, and outside vendors, or creating meaningful moments for attendees.
